The Canadian Geotechnical Society / La Société canadienne de géotechnique (CGS) and the Calgary Geotechnical Society (CyGS) organized GeoCalgary 2022, the event took place this past October and was held at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary, Alberta. In 2022, GeoCalgary celebrated their 75th year, it is currently the longest running annual geotechnical conference in the world.
As part of the conference, a short course was presented by Reinforced Earth Company Ltd and our sister companies. The course, entitled “Design and Construction of Mechanically Stabilized Earth Retaining Structures and Associated Ground Improvements” was conducted as a combined effort of Reinforced Earth Company Ltd, MENARD Canada Inc., Sixense Northern America, and ConeTec. The four companies have confirmed to not take the Honorarium offered but rather donate the money back to CGS.
